Today, I’m going to write about something a little different. I’m going to tell you about my love story, because a year ago today, I met the most amazing guy in my life, my boyfriend Jordan. You guys have probably seen his picture somewhere on the page but just incase you haven’t here is another one. Isn’t he a total cutie?! This is actually outside of Ben and Jerry’s (I told you he was amazing!).
Remember how I mentioned in my last post, “Maintaining Relationships in a Busy Life,” that Jordan and I met on a weekend trip? Well, that trip was a Fall Retreat sponsored by the schools ministry team. We took a bus to Lord knows where in Arkansas and stayed Friday and Saturday night. Jordan just so happened to sit in the seat in front of me so we got to talk all the way to camp.
The next day we hiked Mt. Pinnacle with this huge group below. Not to brag, but I was definitely the second one up the mountain (the other guy just barelyyy beat me!). Jordan had gone up the difficult side with a group of people so he would like to use that as his excuse for not beating me. (; In the picture below, I am in a grey t-shirt in the front middle (thanks to my height) and Jordan is near the middle on the left in a blue hat. I like to pretend that he is looking in my direction in this picture, but, more than likely, he was probably distracted by a bird or squirrel or something. 🙂
Later that night, Jordan and I were talking by the campfire when a group of friends decided to go stargazing. There was actually a little garden area that was perfect for this (like the “every romantic movie you’ve ever seen” kind of perfect.) So, everyone in our little group lay on the concrete and looked up at the stars. We even got to see a bunch of shooting stars, which made the night even more special(I trieddd to tell you it was like the movies!) As it got later and later, people started to leave until Jordan and I were the only ones left.
We had only known each other for a little while, but there under the stars, we felt free to talk about anything and everything. We talked about family, friends, past relationships, our hobbies, you name it. We talked so much that it was around three in the morning until we realized we needed to go back to our cabins to get some rest. Ever since that weekend, Jordan and I have been together. We may not have been officially dating for a few months after that, but we might as well have been. I am so happy that God gave us the opportunity to have such a unique and special “first date.”
I absolutely love sharing the story of how Jordan and I met with others especially since it is so perfect. I hope each of you is able to find someone who makes you as happy as Jordan makes me. Have you already met the man of your dreams? If so, tell me about how you two met in the comments below! I would love to hear it!
